Undaunted Raid Character Spotlight - Nejire Hado

In this Character Spotlight, we will be taking a look into Nejire Hado, member of "The Big 3"! Nejire Hado uses her "Wave Motion" quirk to convert her vitality into blasts of energy to dazzle her foes!

Nejire Hado is a 7 Hand Size, 21 Health character focused on using a suite of abilities that let Nejire pay health to enable powerful Enhances!

Nejire's Enhance lets her permanently reduce her maximum health by 1 to either make her attacks deal more damage or make her Rival's attacks easier to block. Being able to use this Enhance multiple times per turn can allow for Nejire to be very difficult to land attacks on while also threatening huge hits on the offense! Just be careful -- you can't raise your maximum health, so any you're paying with Nejire is gone for good!

Moving on, Nejire also has a Once Per Turn Response which lets her gain 2 health any time she plays or blocks with a foundation! This can let her survive situations that all hope seems lost, as well as make up for losing life from the rest of her kit!

Spiral Blasts, Nejire's signature attack, packs a real punch! First off, as an Enhance you get to gain 2 health, and if that puts you to max health you get +2 damage! Since Nejire's Enhance decreases her max health and many of her cards heal her, Spiral Blasts can regularly get the bonus damage even amidst attacks on both sides!

Also, Spiral Blasts has Echo! Being able to pay a momentum to play Spiral Blasts again and gain even more health is a major key to success with Nejire.

Lastly, if your opponent has more than ten foundations in play, Spiral Blasts' Deadlock Enhance can wrap a game up quick. In one Enhance, you get to grab attacks from your Momentum to continue your turn with, while also setting up momentum to pay for your Echo!

Ryukyu Agency Trainees compliments Nejire's Response ability very well! The Response on Ryukyu Agency Trainees lets you commit it after your attack is blocked, and if you do the next foundation you play goes straight to your stage! This lets you consistently gain life of Nejire's Response during your turn without clogging up your card pool.

Lastly, the Deadlock Response on Ryukyu Agency Trainees seriously pressures your Rival's resources on turns they need to block -- especially with multiple copies! Imagine your poor Rival building into deadlock and getting told to commit 6 foundations after they block one of your attacks. They'll be put in a spiral, for sure!
