Street Fighter 6: Challenger Series Card Combos!

Matt Smith, Senior Game Designer

The Street Fighter 6 challenger decks are finally out in the world, and we wanted to give you the upper hand by sharing some of our favorite standard legal combos made possible with your new SF6 cards.

Luke’s Sweep

SF601-007-UC-LukesSweep.png
AOT01 | 0065 Surprising Strength R

Use Surprising Strength to give Luke’s Sweep another instance of EX and a quick momentum to start the chain. This’ll let you EX: 2 twice, making it a 6 low for 7, and you’ll still have a Momentum afterward!

Ryu and Hashogeki

SF601-006-R-Hashogeki
UVS05 Undaunted Raid | 035 Lust For Battle

Ryu and Hashogeki both give you an opportunity to stack cards on top of your deck. Let Hashogeki resolve, then pay the drive with Lust for Battle to set up your next check while making your rival’s check a bit worse.

Endlessly Doting

CR02-020-YashaNydoorinOrphanmaker-CH
UVS05 Undaunted Raid | 017 Surprise Interception

If your plan is to partially block, Endlessly Doting is your best friend. A character like Yasha can take advantage of Endlessly Doting to reduce incoming damage while still stacking rage counters. Use a card like Surprise Interception to make sure you can block and keep your rival off momentum.

Fist of the Ages

SF601-016-C-FistoftheAges.png
AOT01 | 0209 Plow Through Enemies UR

The neat thing about Fist of the Ages is it is able to buff an attack twice with one card. This can really fuel cards like Plow Through Enemies where one Fist of the Ages alone can jump it up to 11 speed and 7 damage.

Shin Hashogeki

TMNT01-010-CH-R-RaphaeltheMuscle
TS01 Challenger Deck | 003 Avoiding Conflict
AOT01 | 0CD2 017 Mikasas Admission UC

Shin Hashogeki is a very powerful card with huge potential in a match. You can stack all kinds of damage bonuses in your stage to pump it up, but if you want to burst out a bunch of commits, try playing Raphael with Avoiding Conflict and Mikasa’s Admission. You can use Raphael’s second Enhance to discard your hand, triggering every copy of Avoiding Conflict and Mikasa’s Admission you have in hand, committing a slew of foundations. Not to mention the +4 damage from Raph himself and AT LEAST +1 speed. Blocking a 7 speed attack with all of your foundations committed is a tall order.

Rising Uppercut

SF601-009-R-RisingUppercut
PROMO24-049-PaulPhoenix-P

Rising Uppercut is an important new tool introduced with Street Fighter 6 challenger decks - you're not always safe to throw out an attack on your turn. Paul Phoenix loves Rising Uppercut, getting to grant it Stun: 2 to disrupt your rival’s turn, and an extra use out of his Once Per Turn Enhance to pump it for extra damage. You can no longer throw out a High attack without taking a risk against Paul Phoenix.

Aerial Kikosho

SF602-004-UR-AerialKikosho
UVS06 Booster | 109 Camie Utsushimi

Aerial Kikosho’s ability to be played as an attack on the rival’s turn opens up the possibility of using some abilities that are generally restricted to your own turn. The deck itself includes this combo for Jamie, but Camie Utsushimi is another character with an ability so powerful it had to be restricted to once per turn. Use Aerial Kikosho with her and do double duty dealing damage.

Breakin’

SF602-007-UR-Breakin.png
CB02 Challenger | 002 Faye, Queen of Hearts
DT Yu Yu Hakusho | 001 Bui
MHA07 | 037 Mina Ashido
CR02-006-FjordtheSeasChampion-CH

It is very rare that we print the ability to ready your character during your turn, making Breakin’ a unique and powerful tool. Here are a few of the water characters with some of the strongest commit abilities that should love this new toy.

I hope these helped get your gears turning, and I look forward to the combos you come up with in Street Fighter 6!
