Meet the Students in Jet Burn!
UVS Staff
Greetings, Heroes!
As we progress through the Card Reveal season for My Hero Academia: Jet Burn, we’re excited to start taking deeper dives into the new characters and strategies that Jet Burn will provide!

Izuku Midoriya's new Character Card is all about Charge attacks! Using his first Enhance you can ready a Rival's foundation to give your attack a ton of free stats, and once per turn you can discard a card to draw a card for each Charge attack in your card pool.
Using Charge like "Double Jab Pummel", "Wind-up Punch" and "Cannon Blast" allows for a powerful line of attacks that will also draw you a ton of cards with Midoriya's Enhance!

Katsuki Bakugo's return to UniVersus follows up on his previous themes of card-pool clear and big damage with two abilities designed to pressure your Rival -- and is that 30 max health?
Bakugo's Once Per Turn Enhance lets you discard a card from your card pool, and then if it's your turn your rival discards a card. As the aggressor, simultaneously clearing your card pool and attacking your rival's hand can create a lot of opportunities to get attacks through, and being able to card pool clear on defense is great too!
Lastly, Bakugo's Response boosts your fury attacks by +3 damage every time their damage is decreased. Being able to prioritize speed-hate in your deckbuilding through cards like "Dance Routine", "Suited Up" and "Acrobatic" makes blocking a snap -- and you can point those cards at YOUR attacks to get free damage boosts!

Kyoka Jiro's all about accumulating "Applause Counters" through her various attacks and her Response, and then cashing them in to do powerful things!
Her Enhance helps her keep control of the game by slowing down your Rival's attacks while readying your own committed foundations for additional value!
"I Am A Hero, Too!" is the payoff for the Applause Counters strategy -- if you can get to 25 counters, you can win the game in a single Enhance!

Shoto Todoroki's got a focus on sealing your Rival's stuff, and then getting stronger and stronger for each foundation you've sealed!
Once per turn, after playing a Ranged card you can seal a rival foundation. This triggers during either players turn, meaning you can block with a Ranged card and negate problematic foundations during your Rival's turn!
During your turn, you can give your attack +1 / +1, and then ANOTHER +1 / +1 for every two sealed rival foundations. Leaning into this strategy with Seal focused cards from previous sets like "Precision Seal Strike", "Seafood Slugger" or "Rushing Stab" can be a great way to get started on deckbuilding!

Tsuyu Asui's set of abilities encourages you to attack as widely as possible, and allows for gaining tremendous value out of careful sequencing!
First off, you can commit her to draw a card and give an attack 1 damage. While that seems mediocre, her Response allows her to ready any time an attack is blocked. So as long as someone is blocking, you won't run out of cards!
Lastly, Asui can discard a card from your hand to discard an attack from your card pool. Effects that trigger upon cards leaving your card pool like "Frog Kick", "Gran Torino Agency" and "Nitro Ignition Explosion" can give you extra resources when you need them most!
