Godzilla: Reign Of Kaiju – Design Teaser

Hello Universus and GODZILLA fans! This is Senior Game Designer, Jeremy Ray, and I’m here today to just give a little look into our upcoming booster set Godzilla: Reign of Kaiju. I couldn’t be more excited for our players to get their hand on this set and see what we’ve been working on.

How about we start with a few big picture teasers!

• The Universus debut of several iconic Kaiju from the Godzilla universe.
• 3 new PVE Encounters to face with your friends.
• New cards for all 12 symbols(and Infinity)!
• A new type of token.

Wanna see some out of context card text?

• This card gets -1 difficulty for each INFINITY symbol card in your stage.
• While this card is in your stage, all attacks get +1 damage.
• Form Remove, remove 1 copy of “CARD” from your hand: Name a card. Search your deck for up to 3 copies of the named card, reveal them, and add them to your hand.
• Response Spend 1 momentum: After you block with this card, ready your character.
• Response: After you play a keyword ability, draw 1 card.
• Blitz Mill 2: Remove 1 card from your discard pile. This attack gets +X speed. X equals the printed difficulty of the removed card.

Hey, did you remember earlier when I mentioned something about a new token card? You wanna see it? Let’s not have you wait any longer.

Unlike previous tokens, Power tokens will be added into your stage. This will let you store them up to really bring the damage when you need it most. Ways to use and generate these new tokens are spread throughout Godzilla Reign of Kaiju. Let’s look at a little bit of card text showing off some of the ways you can use your power tokens besides the obvious.

• Blitz Commit up to 2 Power tokens: Seal 1 rival foundation for each Power token committed this way.
• This attack gets -1 difficulty for each Power token in your stage (max. -4).
• Enhance Sacrifice, sacrifice 1 Power token: Ready up to 2 foundations with difficulty 2 or less.
• Enhance Sacrifice, sacrifice 2 Power tokens: The next card you play this turn ignores progressive difficulty.

As a life long Godzilla fan, I am very pleased to have the chance to work on this project to join two of my favorite things.
