BAN AND ERRATA UPDATE 07/07/2026

We have 2 changes to the ban and errata list this month. We have a couple cards we’d like to adjust coming out of our recent Las Vegas Regional and heading into our upcoming TEKKEN 8 booster set release! We have seen a lot of different archetypes and playstyles having success at the Local championship and Regional level, but we have noticed a fairly significant usage outlier, not only in the top cuts performing decks, but across the entire Las Vegas Regional event.

Team Hero XV – Errata

  • OLD: Enhance Remove: Build 1 foundation with difficulty 4 or less from your discard pile.
  • NEW: Enhance Remove: Build 1 foundation with difficulty 4 or less from your discard pile committed.

Since its release, Team Hero’s popularity has steadily climbed at both the LC and Regional level. This came to a peak at the Las Vegas Regional where it was one of the most played cards in the entire event. The ability to always find the right tool for the job has outpaced the risks of seeing too many copies early by a wide margin. Combined with incredible synergy with Hunter’s Ally, we have seen a card that plays well in any archetype. The current level of usage borders on creating a “Warping” impact on the competitive meta. We want to keep the cards’ primary function of being a versatile tool to help build a powerful stage, but increase the risk of playing extra copies and slow the speed that the card impacts the game on both offense and defense.

Reiner Braun, Marley’s Shield – Errata

  • OLD: At the start of the End Phase, if there are 4 or more card types among cards in your stage and you have at least 1 momentum, flip 1 rival foundation and you may transform Reiner Braun, Marley’s Shield.
  • NEW: At the start of the End Phase, if there are 4 or more non-token card types among cards in your stage and you have at least 1 momentum, flip 1 rival foundation and you may transform Reiner Braun, Marley’s Shield.

As many players have surmised, Reiner was developed and tested when Token cards were still just an idea. While Reiner’s results so far haven’t reached the normal threshold for B&E action, we want to get ahead of the release of TEKKEN and the introduction of Heat Tokens. Heat Tokens are a more consistent and easier “ask” in deckbuilding and gameplay for Reiner to obtain than Power tokens. Making fast transformations more consistent and dangerous. Once he is transformed, Reiner is an absolute powerhouse. Even with his relatively difficult and limited access points to Power Tokens, it was a huge boost to his consistency and power level upon their release. Heat Tokens would open that door even further to a potentially problematic level we’d like to avoid.
