Undaunted Raid Character Spotlight - Overhaul

In this Character Spotlight, we will be taking a look at the villainous Overhaul, leader of the Shie Hassaikai! Overhaul's quirk allows him to deconstruct and reassemble any matter with just a touch, allowing him to both create and destroy with impunity!

Overhaul's abilities start out with a First Enhance that lets you build any card from your hand face-down, on either your turn's or your Rival's! This can let Overhaul keep up with building foundations while playing attacks during your turn, letting you pressure your rival without letting yourself fall behind.

Secondly, Overhaul has a Response ability that lets him flip 1 foundation after the Block Step of your attack to give your attack +2 damage gain 1 life. This Response is very powerful because since you get to decide to use it AFTER the block step, you can know whether or not your Rival is going to block the attack before you pay your cost for the Response.

Lastly, the Enhance that pulls it all together is another Once Per Turn Enhance that lets Overhaul play any face down card in your Stage as the next card you play IGNORING PROGRESSIVE DIFFCULTY! You can do this during your turn to end a brutal attack string with a huge threat like Monstruous Fusion from out of nowhere, or as a defensive play you can block using a card from your stage as well! However, if you use this Enhance during your Rival's turn, you have to discard a card after you do so.

(And remember if you don't have any cards to discard, you're still able to use the Enhance to block with a card from your stage!)

Overhaul's Enhance to build cards from your hand face-down is perfect for cards like Monstruous Fusion! If Monstrous Fusion is played from your Stage with Overhaul's Enhance, it gains Powerful: 5, providing an excellent outlet for any excess Momentum if you need to do a lot of damage very quickly.

Secondly, `Monstrous Fusion has another Enhance that lets you remove the top 3 cards of your discard pile to get an additional 3 speed, meaning that Monstrous Fusion is coming in with at least 8 speed! Using Overhaul's Enhance to play a Monstrous Fusion ignoring Progressive Difficulty at the end of a string of attacks is enough to crack any defensive strategy!

UVS05 Clash Decks | 024 Reconstructed Wrecker

Reconstructed Wrecker is an all-star in the Overhaul deck! Firstly, Reconstructed Wrecker has a Static ability that as long as it's in your cardpool, your rival has to flip a foundation to use any keyword ability. Being able to restrict defensive keywords like Breaker while on the beatdown and also restrict your Rival while they're attacking you -- and if they don't have any face-up foundations, they cant use their keywords at all!

But that's not all -- Reconstructed Wrecker has a very similar Enhance to Overhaul himself, as you can discard 1 card to play a face-down card from your card pool as your next card! However, this ability does not ignore Progressive Difficulty, so it's best to use Wrecker's Enhance early in your turn to save Overhaul's for when ignoring Progressive Difficulty matters most.
