What’s kicking, UniVersus?
Levi from the Organized Play team here to bring you some righteous updates to UniVersus Weekly Play! In addition to crazy creatures, serious ninjutsu skills, and more perfected ooze than you can imagine, our upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Booster Set has even more in store for you at your local game store.
UniVersus has never been shy about trying new things when it comes to the rewards for getting over to your LGS and jamming games. Through potent unique promos all the way to thrilling alt arts, the quest to nail down what the perfect enticements are has been arduous to say the least. While players enjoyed the shift away from locking unique mechanics to the highly varied contents of these packs, they also missed the wide array of options featured in them. Even if we’re shipping the best alt art in the universe over to your LGS every month, one card typically can’t shoulder everyone’s desires. (Unless you’re a certain maneuvering equipment of the vertical variety, but we know how that one turned out.)
And so, one of the last surprises TMNT has in store for you is the introduction of the “Event Pack” for UniVersus Weekly Play.
Inside each of these packs you’ll find three random cards from a pool of fifteen total. Ten of these cards will be parallel foil versions of Common and Uncommon cards, essentially granting you foil versions like how cards of a Challenger Series can be found from Collector’s Boosters.
Meanwhile the remaining five will give you something juicer to chase. These five cards will be foil, alternate art versions of different Commons and Uncommons. Look forward to seriously stylized versions of the turtles in here, as well as an alt art you might find yourself having to chase eight of!
Your typical TMNT pack contains three parallel foils, with some packs trading out one foil for one alternate art card. These Event Packs will be tagging out each Booster Set, so you’ve got plenty of time to collect them all before our next one approaches.
